Very happy to have the drains flowing freely again
The initial telephonic contact was friendly and helpful, and the appointment made for the next available working day. When the employee arrived, he was very professional, and managed to find the issue quickly. The blockage wasn't easy to remove (stones and mud from a collapsed pipe) and needed some extra persuasion, but eventually the water was running clear through the pipes - much to our delight. This pipe and drain had been giving us issues since we moved into the house last May. I would gladly recommend this company to others
Drain unblocking.
Turned up on time and did a very good job. Very nice operative.
Kitchen drain not clearing outside.
After trying to clear outside gully by hand, I feared a major underground issue. After seeing good reviews, I called Happy Drains Norwich. A non urgent visit was agreed 8am-12. On the day, He called to advise on the way. Shortly after, he called again to advise that he had to attend an emergency and would it be OK in 1 hour. I agreed and he arrived in originally agreed time window. Relying on experience, he determined that the gully outlet was in a surprise position and he removed bits of concrete and old fat. Quick job but fee was ok for his experience and his very flexible wrists!

Norwich's combination of Victorian-era drainage and Norfolk's clay soil creates specific blockage patterns we see regularly. Tree roots from mature Norwich street trees often infiltrate older clay pipes, while fat and grease buildup affects many city center commercial properties. The area's clay soil can shift and displace pipes during wet Norfolk winters, and leaves from Norwich's abundant trees frequently block external drains during autumn months.

Norfolk's clay soil becomes particularly problematic during wet winter weather, expanding and contracting around Norwich's drainage pipes and creating additional stress on aging systems. Combined with increased leaf fall from the city's mature trees and higher usage of heating oils that can congeal in pipes, winter presents unique challenges for Norwich drainage. Our local experience helps us anticipate and quickly resolve these seasonal issues before they become major problems for your property.
