Blocked drain in kitchen in a third floor apartment
The kitchen sink was blocked and when the washing machine discharged its contents the sink then overflowed! So urgent help needed. They were open after hours for emergency requests. The late night visit which we had anticipated did not happen, however on following up in the morning, they quickly dispatched someone to the property and sorted the problem for a pre-agreed fixed fee. The office reception or deployment was actually good and friendly and had a can-do attitude. The guy turning up struggled a bit with directions but communicated until he arrived. I would use them again.
Unblocking a very smelly bathroom sink
I rang Happy Drains at 8:45am on a Monday morning to say I had a blocked and very smelly drain in the bathroom sink. They sent someone out who arrived at 11am - he unblocked the sink, checked the shower and toilet in the same bathroom, took photographs and cleaned everything perfectly. Such great service in such a timely manner. We also use Happy Drains at my work place and have always found their team great!

Our engineers cover New Cross SE14 and can navigate local traffic patterns for fastest response
Call Now: 07824 757572New Cross's Victorian terraces retain much of their original drainage infrastructure, with clay pipes dating back over a century. These period systems require specialist knowledge to maintain effectively, as the pipes can be fragile and prone to root intrusion. Our engineers understand how to work with these heritage drainage systems while bringing them up to modern performance standards. The area's mix of preserved Victorian features and contemporary requirements demands expertise in both traditional and modern drainage solutions.
The busy New Cross Road corridor presents unique drainage challenges with its concentration of restaurants, takeaways, and commercial premises. Grease and food debris from these establishments frequently cause blockages in the shared drainage infrastructure. We've developed specialist techniques for clearing commercial drain blockages in this area, working around the busy trading hours to minimize disruption. The high volume of pedestrian traffic also means surface water drains require regular maintenance to prevent overflow issues.
New Cross's position as a major transport hub, with both New Cross and New Cross Gate stations, creates specific drainage considerations. The railway infrastructure affects local ground conditions and can impact drainage flow patterns. Historical railway construction has also created areas where drainage systems were modified to accommodate rail lines, sometimes resulting in complex pipe runs that require expert knowledge to navigate. Our engineers are familiar with these unique local conditions and plan their approach accordingly.
