The client requested a CCTV drain survey to assess the condition of the drainage system over a defined section.
The CCTV survey was completed successfully and the drainage system was left as found following the inspection.
The customer reported that the foul drainage system at the property was backing up, discharging slowly and failing to clear properly. These symptoms were consistent with a developing obstruction within the pipework, where water flow had become progressively restricted. Slow-running facilities, rising wastewater levels and surface pooling around the access chamber indicated that the blockage had worsened over time and now required professional clearance. Left unresolved, this type of obstruction can lead to more severe surcharging, foul odours and potential escape of wastewater.
The blockage was completely cleared, and strong flow was restored throughout the foul water system. The manhole and surrounding work area were washed down and left clean and tidy. Following clearance, the system discharged normally with no signs of surcharge, back-ups or slow operation. The customer was advised that the drain was now functioning correctly.
Internal drainage was backing up due to a blockage within a horizontal soil vent pipe located in the loft space.
Flow was restored through the soil vent pipe and the system was operating correctly at the time of attendance.
The customer reported a blocked drain causing restricted flow and poor discharge.
Drain flow was restored and the system was operating normally at the time of attendance.
A blocked toilet was reported at the property, with the customer experiencing poor drainage and rising water levels when flushing.
Flow through the toilet was fully restored with no remaining signs of obstruction. The system was left free-flowing, and the customer was advised on good flushing practice to help prevent a recurrence.
